This post is all about newborn essentials for 2021
1. JuJuBe Diaper Bag
CA|US
Choosing a diaper bag is so overwhelming. There are so many options to choose from. This bag is durable, spacious and the backpack option is perfect for travel and keeping your hands free. I recommend selecting a neutral color so daddy’s don’t mind holding it when you have full hands.
2. Zipper Sleepers
CA|US
Button-down sleepers are cute, but I wholeheartedly recommend zipper sleepers when it comes to nighttime clothing. For those middle-of-the-night diaper changes, the last thing you want to deal with is a button-up sleeper! You can never have enough of these.
3. Swaddles
CA|US
CA|US
For those of you that swear by swaddling, these are essential! The swaddle is already created for you and won’t unravel like the blankets. Both of these are great and will keep your baby nice and snug.
4. Button Onesies
CA|US
Babies are so delicate, and sometimes putting clothes over their heads can be daunting. These onesies are easier to put on and allow easy skin-to-skin time without removing all of the baby’s clothing.
5. Baby Pillow
CA|US
This pillow helped me keep my babies from getting a ‘flat head.’ Note: A baby should never be left unattended on a pillow. This has been useful for us and has lasted us a very long time – my baby still uses it! It’s also 100% organic cotton, which makes it really comfortable for the baby.
6. Bouncer
CA|US
You don’t need anything fancy; babies are simple. All you need is something practical for when you want a break or if your baby is taking a nap. That said, this bouncer is key because it folds flat! My goodness, baby things add up real fast and storage is always an issue. When a company adds practicality to its products, you know I’m all for it!
7. Nasal Suction
CA|US
The nasal suction really is as gross as it sounds. But, it will help you. It is so practical and helpful when required. I don’t recommend anything fancy, this one is just perfect and does the job so well!
8. Saline Spray
CA|US
This goes hand in hand with nasal suction. You may need this if your baby’s nose needs some moisture or help with the nasal suction.
9. Dry Wipes
CA|US
If you don’t like to use regular baby wipes, these are the perfect wipes’ replacement. These wipes are so versatile you can use them as a makeup remover, clean counters, and so much more.
10. Squirt Bottle
CA|US
This affordable squirt bottle gives out just the right amount of water to clean things up quickly for those who prefer water to clean your babies instead of wet wipes.
11. Chucks
CA|US
When your baby does a leaky poop, you’ll thank me. These are great to keep in your diaper bag and as a layer on your change table so you’re not always cleaning after a diaper explosion. All you have to do is ‘chuck it out’ – pun intended!
12. Cetaphil baby wash
CA|US
This is a good option if you’re looking for sensitive skin body wash and shampoo with a pleasant mild scent.
13. Eczema Cream
Alright, this might not be a newborn essential for everyone, but it is for me and I know it will be for some of you. I’ve had eczema as a child, so I know all about steroids, and I desperately try to avoid it. This cream is made with organic herbs and NO steroids, petrolatum, or fragrance. The fantastic thing about it is that you don’t even need to have eczema to use it and it can be used on adults and children. This cream works if you have a rash or even a bug bite. Essentially anything that makes you itch like crazy!
14. Bathtub
CA|US
Bathing babies can be a difficult task. This bathtub makes bathing manageable and grows with your child. It’s nothing fancy, but it gets the job done.
15. Diaper Genie
CA|US
This is non-negotiable. For all of those smelly diapers, you need something that will hold the smell in. This is it. Most generic brand diaper pail refills fit in this so you don’t need to spend extra on brand-name refill bags.
16. Change Table
CA|US
Sometimes it’s not the most expensive, but the one that serves your needs the best that’s the best option. The option to roll this changing table around and its durability make this one a winner.
17. Diaper Caddy Organizer
CA|US
You’ll want a place to put your diapers and diaper changing essentials so you can easily change diapers anywhere. This one is really cute and has removable inserts so you can organize your things the way you want and then when your baby is done with the diaper stage you can even use it for storage.
The simplicity of babies is so beautiful. While you don’t need too much at the newborn stage, there are a few staple items that you’ll use long-term and even for multiple children. I am a firm believer in investing upfront. This saves the headache and in the long run, is usually cost-effective. You’ll also be surprised that some products don’t need to cost a fortune to last long!
