When you search for the things moms need, more often than not, you find a bunch of products that really are for you and the baby, or mostly what you need for the baby. Whenever I needed ‘things’ I would have to search for “gifts for her” in order to find something that I needed for myself. You won’t find that in this post. This post is about you – the things you need for yourself and yes, you’re still a mom.

This post is all about things moms need for themselves.
Omega 3
Starting with nutrition. We overlook so many nutrients as women because, let’s face it, life happens. Omega 3’s can improve your overall health, including cardiovascular, eyes, metabolism, inflammation and the list goes on. We tend to overlook Omega 3’s, but we should be incorporating them into our diet; that’s why this is a must-have!
Lume Deodorant
We don’t talk about it, but we know it. As ethnic people, BO happens, and the ethnic food we cook does not help. I have tried so many deodorants, and this one is by far my favorite. It starts with a strong scent, but either you adjust to it, or it fades eventually. This does work as advertised, and their advertising is oddly satisfying. Ever since I found Lume, I stopped searching for other natural deodorants.
Joggers
You will not regret this. I have sensitive skin, so I am particular about my clothing. These pants are so comfortable! You can pair it with a long tunic for a casual day or just loungewear in the house. It covers your curves and is breathable. You won’t want to take them off!
Himalayan Scrub
During my third pregnancy, I felt my skin change a lot, so I introduced Himalayan scrub, and it leaves your face so smooth and helps with any blemishes. I loved it so much I even gifted it to family and friends, who now also love it just as much as I do!
Heat Pad
You will get knots all over your back. Your knees might hurt, and you might have days of just aches and pains. A heating pad is a must! Getting you back into a relaxed state is essential, and you’ll be reaching for a heating pad now and again. You’ll never find this on a “things moms need” list, but you’ll thank me for it, I promise!
Hand Cream
With all of the baths, washing dishes, and North American weather, your hands are bound to get dry. It is essential to keep hand cream close by before your skin cracks, trust me. I have been there done that! This one is amazing, and I highly recommend it!
Hijab Magnets
Okay, what! Genius! If you wear a scarf and even if you don’t, these small magnets are so functional. You can use these magnets in replacement of traditional safety pins. You can find so many valuable things to use these on such as low-cut tops, flared sleeves, neck scarves, and even as replacements for those shirts with missing buttons! I can’t tell you how many of my pashminas have a safety pin stuck in them – but not anymore!
Robe
Hot flashes are real. During pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond, body temperature fluctuations happen. Having a forever robe can be so easy! Its oversized nature allows you to wear and take it off whenever you want, quickly, and it is bound to keep you cozy. We know all about winter for those living in North America. This robe is ideal during winter.
Waterpik
If you don’t already have one, you most unquestionably need it. Once you start, you can’t go back! Flossing takes time and effort, and while you should still incorporate it into your routine, it’s tough to commit to it. Thankfully, the Waterpik is a fantastic alternative to help keep your teeth clean. It takes a fraction of the time of flossing. Us women are always looking for time-saving opportunities, and this for sure is one.
Lark Water Bottle
In a post covid world, sanitizing will take on a whole new level than ever before. This water bottle is designed with a UV sanitizer and truly neutralizes bacteria! You can use this everywhere, especially when you’re at work, out running errands, or even going on a vacation!
Long Sleeve Pajamas
These pajamas are so soft, just like the Kindred Bravely joggers above, and they are perfect to wear if you’re nursing or making any overnight visits to family and friends. If you like to sleep in luxury, then these pajamas are at the top of the list.
Bamboo Hipster Panties
Don’t judge me. I know our conservative backgrounds refrain us from talking about undergarments, but why don’t we? I can’t tell you how hard it is to find the right underwear! But don’t worry, you just found your favorite brand! Kindred Bravely actually has simple yet perfectly comfortable underwear in all different styles. You will be able to find whatever style you like with Kindred Bravely.
Kindle with Built-in Front Light
A kindle is helpful if you’re an avid reader but can’t find the time because of your busy schedule. Sometimes our kids can’t sleep without us in the room, and we sit there or even lie there browsing our phones. That is an opportune time to pull out your kindle and continue reading your book. With a kindle, you don’t have to worry about your little ones ripping pages out of your book. It’s a win-win!
Yoga Socks
Such practical socks! They’re not only cute, but they stay on, and because they have grip, you won’t find yourself slipping around if you have hardwood, marble, or tile flooring in your home. The grip on these socks gives you comfort, especially if you carry your baby up and down slippery stairs.
In a busy world with overloaded options, we don’t always know where to look for the very things we need. If you’re a mom looking for some essentials for yourself, then this list is a great place to start. These can even be great gift ideas for new moms, mother’s day, birthdays, and so much more.
